Someone on Imgur collected a bunch of pictures of old rusting tanks. Thought it was kinda interesting as they tried to guess what they were. Some were almost beyond recognition.

4th picture reminds me of 50% of my teams, f-ing tourists.

8th this wouldve been f-ing  hilarious if it were an artillery piece.

9th how not to use bush mechanics.

I like that M4 Sherman tree camo and that Jagpanzer really knows how to blend into landscape.   :teethhappy:

Pretty sure the first one is Japanese looking at the curve on the turret ring.

A lot of them are mislabeled. But otherwise a good collection of pics.

Always a fan of decay porn. Abandoned tanks are right up at the top of the list. Thx.

It's cool to see these tanks left as impromptu monuments when they could've been torn apart as scrap. Especially with the number of tanks built during World War II I bet these kinds of abandoned tanks are common in Europe and parts of the Pacific.

If I only had a Baneblade....

Years ago when in the ACF we went to a range near Kirkcudbright for a ranging course.

There is/was a Tortoise Assault Tank on the south range (no gun) used to have a photo of me and my mates climbing on it.

Mike.

Oh, it’s still there! You can’t inspect it properly these days, though - too many DU long-rods having penned it pose a slight wee bit of a health risk, I understand...

Aye, the depleted rounds are the reason it wasn't considered for restoration I think.

We seen it about 1975-76 whilst doing a mortar fire control exercise, It was one of the ranging targets (not for us though).

It's fkn huge, or maybe it's coz I was about 14 at the time

Mike.

found a photo online.
