What's the bigger issue with the game, RNG or MM? Looking at the end game results the winning team is shooting around 70% accuracy or better and the losing team is under 40%.

I was playing my M48 Patton. I shot a Machine twice in the lower plate, rolled avg damage. He is now a two shot. I bounce, miss or who knows where that went the next 5 shots.

We lost 6-15. Was MM or RNG the issue? Shot after shot, missed or bounce as I watched the 3rd person view. Red team shot +80%. Green team shot 42%.

Your thoughts?

You’re biasing towards RNG with your OP. You’re only giving examples of rng causing you personal issues, yet asking if MM is a problem.

That aside, MM causes way more issues, in my opinion, with respect to unbalanced game experience.

You could have left out the first part and went straight to your opinion. I feel RNG is the bigger issue. Do I need to give MM or RNG examples? You have 6k games, you've seen a few examples of both issues

Check that battle count again. :teethhappy:

I don’t begrudge your opinion that rng is worse. I just found it odd that you were openly dumping on rng, but then asked which was worse, rng or mm.

I have 13K+ games and I am not very good but here's my answer:

BOTH sometimes in the same the same match. A good example would be a game I played Wednesday. T8-T10. Each side had platoons. We had 2 guys with T10 LT, they had 3 guys platooned in Object 705A's AND 2 guys platooned in T10 Valour's. Each side had 1 T8 tank. Me in my Lansen C with UK crew (R10/S14) and the othe other side with a T8 VK 100P. I took 6 shot at the SIDE of that thing with premium ammo and they all bounced. We lost 1 and 14. And this junk is common. Ever play a match againgst 3 platooned Equalizers? Game over right there. So, in short, there's more WRONG with this game than there is RIGHT. Asking them to "fix it" is pointless. THEY WANT the game to be this way. That's it. Cold, hard truth.

I'd have to go with the matchmaking. Being the only tier 8 in a game against 12 tier 10s just isn't fun in any way, same thing at tier 6.

As much as I like to complain about RNG, I don't think it is a huge issue to the game, at least in the way it's intended to impact the experience. My problem is that the horrible latency between client-server makes RNG feel way worse than it should be. On PC, when you click you instantly shoot; on console, you pull the trigger, and about 1/5 of a second later your shot fires from the position you were originally aiming at. This causes a plethora of issues that make the RNG feel horrible on our live servers even though in the closed testing LAN they probably use in the WGHQ it feels nice.

Just my 2 cents.

My bad, that's posts. Simple mistake.

I see RNG being an issue more then MM. Clause Kellerman did a review on accuracy on the winning team and losing team. In blowouts, it's usually 40% losing team 80% winning team.

MM is far and away the bigger issue

I'd say MM.  The imbalance of tank types can typically give one team far more HP than the other team.  Sometimes it's tough to overcome the few thousand extra HP that MM gave the red team, especially on a corridor map.

Both are issues for different reasons. Matchmaking is an issue when there is one bottom tier tank expected to fight against a full team of tanks two tiers higher, even one tier higher is still too much. RNG is an issue in blowout games when you see one team getting mopped up while the other team is losing no tanks or losing very few. Could be positioning or it could be one team having advantage from RNG.

Mercy rolls and shots that just seem to fail even when a tank should die also kill the game. Especially when a tank is left with as low as 1 health from a shot that low rolled just for the sake of keeping them alive. Kills don't really matter to me since I get robbed way too often from teams and RNG, and it's why I find kills for ops a bit annoying.

The MM is the biggest issue of this game. Period.

None of the above, biggest issue is idiotic, clueless teammates who can't carry their weight, even if their in top-tier.

thats a great curve ball we forget sometimes. Just bad team mates who do zero, yolo or (the best thing they can do to help the team) start pushing you into the line of fire or put their tank in front of you at spawn so you can't move, ECT.

Your thoughts?

The machines lower plate isn’t a reliable area to pen with some areas reaching over 350mm effective armor and most areas being 280ish. So if you weren’t firing premium you had at best a 50/50 chance of penning

This too, you're better off shooting above the tracks or even the upper front plate if you're looking down into it. The tank is tricky with the armor layout since the pike nose and plate underneath it are actually the thickest parts of the hull. The 50 B isn't a problem since it has the turret that's easy to shoot through, but the Machine is a bit trollish.

I would say neither. The biggest issue or issues is the learning curve of this game. The difficulty level in my opinion is very high. Many players just can’t figure the game out well enough to enjoy WOT,s.

Funny post only because you are really asking for me which is my favorite tinfoil hat.  Is it that WG set me up to lose (just me forget the other 29 players) by giving me every possible imbecile and give me a completely mismatched squad compared to the reds dooming me and taking 14 others along with me.  OR

is it tinfoil hat number 2 which is that they are far more subtle and are manipulating the RNG against me both ways and of course only in the key moments of the game when it matters so statistically overall it looks like everything is fine.

Both of the above of course are done to frustrate me enough I will buy premium time and tanks.

I've at points had those thoughts in the past for an extended periods of time ... of course this nonsense  ...

But if I was voting I would say MM though I swear there are times when every one of my shots is going to miss or bounce or low roll even though I stuck my turret into the reds nether region.

I'm going to make the topic a little simpler for the forum. I'm tired of losing 3-4 games in a row to win 1. I'm tired of being down 4 tanks in 45-90 seconds. I'm 2-6 for the day, blowout after blow out. It's a combination of MM and RNG.

The games I won, you think I was using an aim bot. The games I lost, you'd think It was my first game in tier 10. They go hand in hand, it's not one or the other.
