No such thing as a random number generator, they should call it a Programmed Number Generator.

Anything that uses mathematical formulae to decide outcome will still produce a degree of regularity in the results.

It's just getting worse and worse. Whatever you think is the issue, it's just getting worse and worse

Sounds like The Wizard needs to start working more than 4 days per month.

I'd like to say BOTH, but MM is by far a more severe issue. It is nearly constantly mismatching tank types, tiers, and platoons with a system that was set up to with no regard toward balance. Al it's looking for is team 'weight', and number of artys per team, with a very minor band aid on platoons.

RNG can be very frustrating at times, but it is never as commonplace as what MM inflicts.

I accept that MM will put me on bad teams for long stretches of time.  Then, I will be on good teams for a long series of games.  In my experience, it is somewhat predictable.  I don't like it but that is the way it is and over time player skill determines that one's win rate will rise or fall within this framework.  Better players will have higher win rates and poorer players will have lower win rates.

So, I'm on a bad team, trying to do as much damage as I can before we lose and then RNG determines that fully aimed shots will go astray or fail to penetrate.  All in all I think that MM is the bigger problem but RNG makes me angrier - if that makes any sense.  I guess I accept bad MM but I have trouble accepting that RNG needs to be as intrusive as it is.  It really needs to be tuned down - from 11 to 6 or 7.

Just finished reading this and you have nailed it for me.

I've had a few games when RNG is that bad, ghosts and unexplained misses, I've just put the barrel up and laid down the controller.

Saves a few thou in credits :(.

Mike.

MM is far and away the bigger issue

This. People assign far far too much blame on RNG as an issue in this game.

My bad, that's posts. Simple mistake.

I see RNG being an issue more then MM. Clause Kellerman did a review on accuracy on the winning team and losing team. In blowouts, it's usually 40% losing team 80% winning team.

You lost me when you cited Kellerman.  He's so full of donkey dung.  He doesn't realize correlation doesn't equal causation.  I've listened to his conspiracy videos, and it's like watching Ancient Aliens.  Things correlate so they must be created by a conspiracy.  People with a small amount of statistical training know you're just assigning  what you want to be true to the data.

MM. It's poop. ALways has been.

Map rotation is beyond a joke. See the same maps, cos of the crappy game modes slapped on every map. Variety!!!!

Team balancing is not there. Mediums vs heavies is not very fair.

I'd rather my potato friend be in a Machine than a T95e6, as they seem to die within the first 2 minutes.

I love the challenge of being 1 of 3 Tier 8's in the lobby. So much xp to be had nom nom nom nom

Karl Pearson, the "Ice cream theory" and 3rd factor mathematics maybe a wee bit heavy for on here.

I'd stay away from Pearson. Might have done a lot for stats, but a real nutjob with his views on race. Though that's not a subject for discussion on this board.

I think poor map rotation should be considered along with rng and mm with why this game sucks.....if I get a map I don't like to play  (and theres a good few) then I'm not going to make an effort to stay in the game very long. We should be able to blacklist at least 2 maps.

Game performance/server delay.

Lights (namely the even 90) are only annoying to fight because you never know when your shell will fire.  It's the only true RNG since nobody knows how bad the server performance seems to be, yet everyone always misses/drives off cliffs/teleports and thinks it's normal...

Mm can be extremely frustrating. Just finish 15 matches tier 8 in the same tank . Top tier 2 times. Wg is full of shyte if they tell you it’s balanced. It’s supposed to be 33% top med bot. Not what we have.

I’ve always been supportive of staff changes when a product or service no longer meets the current needs. The mm is only able to balance when the server is stuffed. So at any other time. You can get screwed. Since wg seem incapable of correcting the problem maybe staffing changes are needed to bring in fresh ideas. It happens quite a bit throughout the industry.

Neither really.

Just accept that there's variance in matchmaking and rng exists ...

You have a modicum of control over both.

The better you are at the game the better you are at imposing yourself over both.

So instead of wasting time blaming the game just be that player that can make a difference.
