Can you add being able to search for players on an opposite consoles in the garage? Unless I'm unaware, we can only add people if we see them in game.

Also, if you platoon with someone on a different platform, you can only hear them in the garage. Not in the game. Are you planning on changing it so either can join a party?

You can add anyone from your friend list.

  • Open your platoon screen
  • Go to the Friends Tab
  • Press Square to add player (or X if on Xbox)
  • Type in their Friend ID

You should be able to hear them in-game also assuming all the chat settings are correct for all platoon members. For Party chat, that is owned by MS / Sony so nothing we can do there.

Don't you have to see them in a game to be able to add them as a friend though?

Will have to check on our chat settings.

The Platoon only option for in game chat doesn't work (And hasn't for some time afaik) you can't hear eachother. But if you set to everyone it does work.

No, I added my brother in law by just typing in his Gamer tag with a "-x" at the end of it.

We havent actually played together yet to test platoon chat, which I've heard in this thread and others that it doesnt work

Ah. That's what I'm doing wrong. I didn't add the -p to the name.

Platoon chat works.  The key to working platoon chat is that all members must have the same chat settings active.  The rare couple of times I platoon we all set our settings to “Voice Chat Platoon Only” and it works fine.  Also, everyone needs to start with chat volume at its loudest and work down... we found it needed to be near-max in order to hear each other.  There’s been the occasional bug with it, but it’s been 98% working for me.
