Can someone from WG can update article or post here more detailed information about new mechanics?

First this sentence not makes any sense to me:

"This means you will need to spot enemy tanks with your own eyes, but don’t worry, tanker. Once an enemy gets close enough, the normal vision system will kick in and automatically spot them for you."

Why normal vision system need to kick in if tanks will be always visible? What that means?

How this new system will affect auto-locking tanks then you aiming at them almost directly?

What purpose do Light tanks or fast Medium tanks will have in this new vision test if all tanks will be visible all the time?

Will arty will see all enemy tanks always with this new mechanic?

P.S. Discussion forum link not working so created this thread :)

Yeah, reading from the news portal just made me confused. I guess we have to wait and see.

The "Normal system" is the red outline, auto-lock, etc, as I understand it.

So will this mean being in a bush make you truly concealed? And how close is close enough for normal vision system to kick in? I don’t like the sound of this. But I’m going to try to keep an open mind. They make it seem like we are too dumb to work out the current detection system in the article. Being able to do damage while not being spotted is one of the main ways one can have high damage games that you carry. It’s pretty frustrating WGC still doesn’t understand this.

The real question is: weren't there more important fixes than this?

The news article does raise more questions that it answers.  If this is merely a change to an infinite draw range and view range (i.e no 445m limit) then that would be interesting, but this shouldn't impact the detection system.  However, the article implies that camo factors have no influence on whether you can be seen or not (outside of the normal system), which doesn't make sense.

I assume you won't be able to getting spotting damage until things are within the automatic detection range of an ally but you could potentially get tracking assistance damage beyond that range?

Will sixth sense be always active (like with the revenant on Halloween mode) or only activate once you are within the automatic detection of a hostile tank?

Likewise, will targeted activate if someone aims at you 'manually' or only activate once within the 'automatic' detection range of a hostile?

Will artillery be able to 'manually' see enemies that aren't detected by an allies 'automatic' spotting?

I’m wondering how well the garishly painted tanks will fare. There’s a reason bright colors aren’t used on actual military vehicles.

Things like the TANK and quite nearly most camouflage schemes are just going to be target practice at distance. I can only imaging what something like a Hollenhound will be like on night variants of maps.

"Community" + Wargaming are going to find a way to stop/ruin this.......

Looking forward to testing this!

The alterations aren’t supposed to affect both artillery views, but third person cameras are affected. We’ll find a way to abuse that, I assure you.

Sounds interesting, I will rolling out King Dradon and testing its camo value. Winter maps will be specially interesting...

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but the way I read it, is if tanks are always visible then camo values become irrelevant.  Sure you can't autolock until the original detection system kicks in, but you can still aim your gun at a tank you see.  If you can hide your entire tank behind a bush then maybe you can snipe for a bit.  Makes me wish that the console version had more bushes.   Also, you can't really see much on storm/blizzard maps, anyway, so I don't see this having much of an impact on those types of maps.

Your camo will still keep you from being "lit", thus making it harder for enemies to shoot you (no outline, no auto-lock etc.).

Yeah, I understand that, but how often do people use autolock when shooting from a distance?  Usually, in my experience, that's not a high percentage shot.  You need to aim ahead/behind or at weak spots.
