Running previous generation games at 120 fps can be achieved with a patch on Xbox SX, not on PS5!...

As we are diving more into the "what does it do better" of the next gen. consoles, information starts to transpire on backward compatibility, and game upgrades to make use of the better hardware...

As per the Eurogamer article, updating existing games to run at 120 fps on Xbox Series X requires a minor patching, while it requires a full native port on the PS5.

For World of Tanks, I think it is a moot point, because I imagine WarGaming will not patch the Xbox version of the game to run at 120 fps, before the PS5 version is ready. Else, it would give a significant advantage to those pesky Xbox players....

Ahhh, when it comes to code, Xbox always seem to have the lead....

we've been here since the start so no wonder the "code" is more up to date lol

Will WG ever have WoT offline like they promised?

Doesn't matter. Game can't run at higher fps. Not because of WG's fault. Its because of the players base. Not everyone can upgrade or afford to buy/purchase a new console. Just think about...

So we are going straight from 30 fps to 120fps?    Highly unlikely.:teethhappy:

This game needs a premium M3 Lee

And tv's, don't you need 8K for 120fps?

getting the previous One X to run WoT at 60 fps would be appreciated

the difference between 30 & 60 is highly noticeable.

But will the average person even notice the difference between 60 and 120 with your average TV one plugs a gaming console into?  Not unless 120hz+ refresh rates become standard on affordable-for-everyone TVs.  Honestly... I could care less about whether or not a console can run 120fps.... If we can get a smooth 60 across all platforms that’s good enough for me.

Can the S run at 120 FPS?

You can PM with with questions, if you wish. I don't bite.

WG shouldn't give either new-gen console a significant advantage.over existing consoles either. If they do, they will lose yet more existing players. Not everybody can splash $650 (Cdn) on yet another new console, especially in the middle of a major economic crisis. Many of us only recently 'upgraded' from 360, and most of us didn't receive the promised 'EoL bundle". We won't be falling for that one again. Not for this one time-sink of a game.

hardly. My Q80R can run up to 1440p at 120fps some 4K are capable of it though they are relatively rare

To see the difference between 60 and 120 you have to play a fast game, on WOT I don't think it would be possible to see any difference anyway.

I use Google translator for english language

Lots of juggling in french text, sometimes translator in trouble with that. If you do not understand what I write, tell me.

Actually the Series S GPU is equally powerful to the PS4 PRO.

It can (and does) run WoT on 1080p @ 60FPS.

The Series X runs WoT at 4K @ 60FPS.

I do not expect either consoles to support 120FPS without lowering the resolution. For the Series X that would be an option but not for the Series S.

I have been experimenting with Gears 5 on 1440p@120Hz but I do not think it is very useful for WoT.

The 4K 60 on the Series X with WoT is very nice but I do not feel that is a huge advantage that gives a competitive edge. Mainly very nice eye candy.

Are there any PS5 owners that can confirm the 4K 60 on that console?

It can do 120 fos. But only at 1440p or lower resolutions. It doesn't do native 4K at 120fps.

Dunno if it can run WOT specifically at high frame rates the higher quality/frame rage is usually for 1st party games designed specifically for the platform. But there's no reason it shouldn't. My laptop is less powerful that the series X and it runs the pc version at 120fps.

Here you are:

It is in German, but they explicitly cite WG and TJ Wagner directly and you can see the numbers in the article which talk for themselves:

https://www.4players.de/4players.php/spielinfonews/Allgemein/21353/2194323/World_of_Tanks-Steht_auf_PS5_und_Xbox_Series_X%7CS_zum_Download_bereit.html

EDIT:

I copy-pasted the numbers (numbers are for WORLD OF TANKS ONLY - numbers may be different or vary for other games, some games offer 120fps support on PS5 and Xbox Series X) of the above mentioned article, so everyone can find them in an easier way:

  • PS5 und Xbox Series X: Nativ 4K und 60 fps
  • Xbox Series S: 1080p mit 60 fps
  • PS4 Pro: Checkerboard 4K und 30 fps
  • Xbox One X: Native 4K und 30 fps
  • Xbox One und PS4: 1080p und 30 fps

Also says you buy world of tanks for 40 euros. So i wouldn't trust that info + I'm getting notified that the site isn't safe.

if This is true then why are we not getting any response about the details on the forum or portal?:amazed:    seems fishy to me considering all previous responses about 60fps resulting in the game being locked to 30fps so no unfair advantage was given.
