NA and European servers

Recently started playing the M2 medium tank again.  Installed the level 7 75mm howitzer gun.  Its stated damage is 142.5 HP.   The two previous guns on the update tree (37mm M5/M6) have a stated value of 43.33 HP.   While playing with the larger howitzer I am only getting between 11 and 40 HP per hit.  If i switch to either of the 37mm I am still only getting 11-44 HP per hit. I have used both stock and "gold" ammo without change of hit points on the howitzer.  I am attaching a pic of the last game i played with the 75mm howitzer cannon.  I had 12 direct hits for a total of 242 damage... an average of just about 20 per hit with the 75mm howitzer. The howitzer generally fires high explosive as its default ammunition. HE(high explosive) does not do full-damage unless it fully penetrates enemy armor and that’s why you’re seeing smaller damage numbers. When HE fails to penetrate it has calculations for causing “splash damage” and that splash damage will only be a small percentage of the gun’s potential “alpha damage”. I think you’ll find the 75mm howitzer will deal substantially more damage if you start landing shots on the less armored sides and rear of enemy tanks.

You need to fire more HEAT rounds. HE is only good against paper.

Hello, an HE round needs to penetrate the target to do the full damage. Non-penetrating hits only deal splash damage.

26,000 battles and still playing like a total noob, not even understanding basics? That's... beyond my understanding.
