Vents: really just 2% for crew skills?

A few days ago i read in our forum that vents increase crew skills by only 2% (effectively).

I can't remember the exact thread, but iirc the poster did some vision and/or camo testing. 

Now, if it's really just 2%, would you guys still recommend vents?

A crew bonus isn't a direct 1 to 1 increase for tank characteristics for things like reload / view range ect. It never has been. Specifically regarding rate of fire bonus from Crew equipment/consumables, before 6.0 a 5% Crew bonus from vents gave an equivalent 2.2% Rate of fire increase. After 6.0 the 10% crew bonus from vents gives a 4.4% rate of fire bonus. 

War is a Democracy and the enemy always gets a vote.

So 6.0 was better !! I knew it :)

I prefer the single commander and finally found that the helmet on tank is an equipped tank.

Well, it's the same "exchange rate" of crew bonus to stat bonus. But they increased the crew bonus that vents gives. Previously it was only a 5% crew bonus. Now it's 10%.

Thanks for clarification.

I'm struggling right now how to properly set up my Russian heavies. Usually I have them equipped with rammer-vstab-vents.

I wonder if there's a "better" setup?

It depends if you're comfortable with your view range / have an experienced crew. The only thing I would replace vents with is Optics personally. There aren't really any other pieces of equipment that are worthwhile. If you have a crew trained with Situational awareness and are comfortable with the view range you're getting (IE not regularly finding yourself being shot at by things you can't see) then stick with vents.

Vents was effective before 6.0. Now nothing beats cheap camo equipment. Only heavies gain nothing from camo so vents is an option.

It is still 5%. So 2.5 for a crew of 4 members and 2.2 for crew of 3 members.

If you don't need any other piece of equipment more.  Autoloaders are more likely to use vents because they can't mount a rammer. I did put vents on my Paladin.  I didn't feel it needed a gun stabilizer.

 

The vents add 2.1 - 2.2% better performance to a lot of things.  Reload, view range, gun handling and dispersion.  Sometimes that is a noticeable difference.  The tank just feels better overall.

Yes.  It is only 5% for vents.  When I did the reload testing  on different tanks the improvement was 2.1 - 2.2%

Try it with different tanks. Check T95 it has 6 members crew. Or ELC with 2 members crew.

Have you tried it?  I can only test for loading speed easily.  Maybe between  tanks that have 1 vs 2 loaders?

 

However, the main thing is that actual boost is around 2% not 4-5%.

Idk where you got the 10%, it still clearly states 5% as always, the update didn't change that.


I never used food until after 60K battles, had about 100 tanks 3-marked and 200 tanks had Ace Mastery Badges.

I was thinking of BIA which was 5%. Which is now born leader and gives 10%.

Why would they screw around with the 5% of vents.

They F around with this and still can't fix the Beta 2.0 problems???
