and how trying to take the Bottleneck at the beginning of the game is virtually impossible now?  One side out spots the other and that side that was spotted basically gets decimated by hidden TD and Arty fire.  God forbid that you are a light tank that makes the mistake of going that way...you're probably going to get run down by a medium that was lucky enough to get unspotted or shot at least three times.

Light tanks probably shouldn’t go that way since any heavy going there has enough view range to spot the same target that the light can see.

yet I see quiet a few take that route, and either die or come out with not enough hp to survive another shot which makes them run and camp in a hole or yolocide to spot the remainder of the the team.

even the heavies that can outspot a light get outspotted and promptly pooped on

I always look at the roster before a match to see what lights I am up against for taking the hill.  I love it when they show up on the radar in the Bottleneck.  I know they won't be much of an issue.

Shouldn't be going death valley anyway. Take the high ground.

Last night I had two games on Cliff, both times we spawned in the SW corner. Both times no one besides me attempted to take the high ground. Any guesses on how that turned out.

Does half-the-team running around the lighthouse ever work consistently for anybody?  I keep seeing this tactic, and it seems to fail 90% of the time.

I've seen this a lot and it normally does not end well for the team that does it.

It helps the enemy team. I really enjoy firing AP at those guys with my 261.

I keep seeing it even at high tier.  If the opposing team seizes the central high ground they just use interior lines to smash both wings in detail.  Been trying to figure out why players keep trying it?

I’d normally keep a few down by that area due to flankers

I occasionally take my light to the corridor from the north spawn, use the bushes and and the houses as cover. Sometimes it pays off. Lighthouse is a better choice usually, but one gets bored with the same tactics over and over and over again :)

You should almost always go bottleneck in a light tank from south spawn and rarely go there from north spawn. From south you can hit the crossings near lighthouse and have LoS on most of the map. North has less sight lines and is more open to fire both there and on the way in so it's less attractive. Either way, you have to win either the hill or bottleneck. If you don't have either, you just lose

In a light from the South I go ABOVE the bottleneck. That little rock out cropping  that you can use for hard cover and spot to the north and east.  You can pop out and hit the reds too.

But never go down into the bottleneck right at first.
