I’m grinding the 705 towards the 705A. I’ve already got the IS7 and hence I’ve already unlocked the 130mm S-70, which is also the top gun in the 705, but now I have to “re-unlock” again! This is ridiculous. And to add insult to injury, in the 705 grind from stock, it will take 190K XP, until then, I’m stuck in a tier 9 heavy with 212 base pen and a pathetic 240 premium pen. REALLY!!!  So much fun against tier 10s..... but of course, I never get tier 10 games at tier 9.

I’ve ground out over 2 dozen tier 10s, I have no appetite to grind any new tanks with this system in place.

Welcome to Linear Vehicle Progression.  Yet another of those 6.0 features nobody asked for that those still grinding the TT are left to deal with.  
 

Yes, there are a few tanks were it is nice to play a turret or gun which is not “top package”, but the downsides aren’t  worth it.

 

This and the equipment prices changes must have made it really hard for newer players to grind TT tanks.

I am probably never going to grind another line again. Slowly working on the M53 and the Waffentragger PZIV and thats it. Screw having to unlock tanks I have zero desire to play.

Could be worse.
Could be one of those tanks that gets the top gun from their counterpart two or three tiers lower as their stock gun. WZ-111 1-4, T-10 and E-50 come to mind.

Linear progression was a mistake.

Probably because all 6.0 was designed to work with the "new" (recycled) game mode and not for the "classic" system (and this would also explain why many players have felt unconsciously beta-tester in the last 4 months and new "linear pregression" is not a mistake); if you see the video on Excalibur Project of WG in 2018 (here: https://youtu.be/rdPUqMZeSqs) you will observe how many details of 6.0 are already found in that video (from the new X viewfinder, the blue instead of green, to the almost illegible minimap, the position of the small damage icons above the enemy tank, etc.etc) and this if on the one hand would explain almost all the things wrong with the current game also clarifies what is the real interest of WGCB in the current mode (and the minimal corrections made), now called "classic" but knowing WGCB soon could become "legacy" ...

Why this was added is beyond my imagination (but... probably to "motivate" some players to spend money for free XP?)...

Having the possibility to change the gun or the turret, so we can test different builds is great, but with a downside, to unlock everything again is so dumb.

 

Just give us the old progression and combine it with the module system that we have now... or simple, like PC has.

A) you couldn't auto equip from stock the 130mm before 6.0, you had to upgrade the turret and tracks first anyway.

B) the 122 BL 13-1A is the better gun on the tank anyway.

 

C) yeah linear progression is irritating. See my other thread about why on earth the game wants me to grind 638k xp for a tier 9.

Me too. Ive absolutely no idea where this whole thing came from but its game breaking. No wonder everyones playing premiums.

I like being able to choose say the top turret with the non fully upgraded gun as an upgrade isn't always an upgrade but if it was like it is on pc where you can sort of choose what you went for first, grinding tanks would be much more enjoyable experience. Personally i didn't like the package system either it makes grinding tanks that have alot of upgrades quite annoying. Tanks like the WZ-120

It's funny that we all hated the package system and wanted a module type system yet somehow WG made it even more convoluted and worse by sort of implementing a module system. And its all in an attempt to streamline the experience/make it easier for new player yet I still fail to fathom exactly HOW its better for them.

It's a ploy to make you buy gold, buy free xp and fully research the tank.

If you finish the season you can finish the grind in couple days with x2 XP.

I found the grind a lot quicker with season x2 xp.

There is no reason to play the T-10 because of the Obj.257.
I only got the T-10 because with the introduction of the Obj.257, it would be replaced with said tank. But now when I came back I found both tanks in my garage.

T-10 is still very much worth playing thank you. 257 is broken because of the V Shaped armor. As for it "replacing" it. They said they were moving it as the 277 was coming and wanted to put the T-10 going to it instead of the IS-7 which is why the 257 is there when the 252u should be the tier 9 going to it instead.

It s really bad and it s not making any sense. And it s also not making any sense that 6.0 is out how long? 3months+ and they focus their energy on some new mode. 

They seems to really want push everyone out

If I remember right, the Object 277 is only available from the T-10.

And whilst it is worse than a WZ-111 5A, it's still a good tank.

 

As for the T-10 itself, I feel that it is an excellent tank. Object 257 has never been a threat to me, as it's rather slow and ungainly. The T-10 can run rings around some mediums, and has solid armour to boot.

If that's the case I'll have to concede and stand corrected as personally I'd be arguing from ignorance if I was to try disputing either reply.
I will say though I was very much put-off by the state of the stock T-10, perhaps I judged a book by it's cover? I don't know, but personally I'm not very interested in the Obj. 277.
How does the Obj. 277 compare against the IS-7?
