I’ve only been playing for less than a month and have earned the T95/FV4201 Chieftain. What am I supposed to do with it? I don’t have any commanders with more than 4 skills, I don’t have enough silver to equip it and I don’t have enough experience to play anywhere near tier 10! Should I let it sit in the garage or sell it for the silver to help me with the grinds?

If you want to play seriously, go back to tier 5. If you play just for fun and don't care about anything, then grace tier 10 with your presence. The only thing that matters is that you have fun yourself

Its a great tank. Keep it and wait to grind out to higher tiers (6-8) to fund playing it.

IMO, there is nothing wrong with selling it if you are not going to play it. I have been playing regularly for about 9 months and have sold multiple gift tanks for the silver, which is really needed for tech tree grinds.

Did you reroll, is this your first account? Given how you're doing so far, you should be fine to play it whenever you have the silver to equip it, but you'll likely lose silver playing it at first. You should probably continue grinding up the tiers for a few hundred more games before playing it

Don't play it until you are ready to equip it and have a commander. I would recommend never selling a premium tank. Keep playing the tanks you're comfortable with and grind some crews and silver.

If you don't know, ask someone who does.

If you do decide to sell it, you'll get around 4.5 million silver and you will be able to buy it back at any time right off the tech tree. The downside is that it will cost you 9 million to buy it back.

This is my first account. My uncle has been teaching me stuff and I watch videos on YouTube to learn.

If you are desperate for Silver l guess you would sell it.

If it was me back when I started l would have sold it.

BUT

With 3 years game experience now l would...

1. Keep it, don't put anything on it

2. Go back to Tier 4 and have fun learning the different tank types.

3. Watch YouTube videos on WOT Console (not PC).

4. Don't 'buy' anything from the shop. Wait till Xmas time

That's what I would do now, if I was you.

And welcome to the Forum.

It’s a good tank so I’d hang onto it until you feel ready to give it a try. The nice thing with it being a Premium tank is that you can put any British crew you have into it for free to play it and then move the crew back to its home tank.

I don’t know how to act my age! I’ve never been this old before!

I would recommend keeping it.

It won't hurt anything by staying in the garage for a while.

Once you have more game experience, and have banked some silver, you can take it out and see what Tier X is about.

Definitely wait until you have more experience. Even if it takes a year.

But it will always be there for you. It is a good tank for the tier.

There are other ways to get silver.

Nice, well you're doing well so far based on your stats (I assume you track them since wotstars had your recent data), better than most. It's rather expensive to equip tier Xs (1.5 million silver) so you'd be better off continuing to grind tech tree and premium tanks for better crews and more silver and then equip it. Definitely don't sell it though because you need twice as much silver to buy it back as you sold it for and that's not worth it in the long run

I know key cards do not drop tier 10s yet but they may in the future. Then you would get the gold value of any premium tank you own.

If you don't know, ask someone who does.

Keep it mate

You will get round to it eventually

Stay at those lowing tiers and earn some silver commander skills and hone your own skills

Hold on to it until you learn how to play going up the TT.

Never sell, its like those idiots that pawn stuff just buy it back.

It just a pawn shop offers better rates

As a dust collector its cool, but have full intention of equiping and being good with it at some point, its one of the better prem 10s. Even tho its prem the silver bonuses are quite small at 10prem. So as explained above, you will lose silver at 1st

Dont run it without a basic equipment load or do something like run a small repair. Just take the silver hit each battle.

Figure out how to do well consitantly at each tier in a selection of your favorite tank and maybe try 2/3 marking some. when comfy at each tier move up again. Once you doing well at tier 9 and losing lots of silver in your TT 9 you will be ready for tier 10

Doing well consistantly is doing long haul 75% of time is as a good messure. ie doing LH x2 in 200 battles, path to gold dude

A mention on crews, that 3 perk hero crew is gold dust to you. Starts with 3 perks, and the train rate gets seriously helpful around 5 perks. Most tanks work with 5, there are grumbles about not having 20, but 5 will be just fine for most tanks. You my want to keep Garvy as a free agent by keeping him in premiums and not assigning him a nation, get him trained quicker

I dont know if you on british line but Conq is probably best tier 9 for a noob, soooo much Gun depression

and by the time you do it 3 times garvey will be 9 perks, or at least 7-8. Great hull down "style" training

I found myself in a similar situation recently when I earned the obj 268 v5, my first tier 10.  However, I refuse to play it, until I have unlocked an actual tech tree tier 10.  Even though I have multiple tier 9's I just don't feel like I can play at the level required to do well in 9/10's.  I struggle to have mediocre games at tier 6-8, I just don't know how to improve.

But I digress, I'll echo the advice to just keep it for now and wait until you feel ready to play it.  I won't be playing mine either until sometime in the future when I've figured out why I can't perform better.

Moth ball it and bring it out only when you think you are ready.  Might be a while so don`t sweat it.  Tier X does not make much Silver unless there is an event going on.  If you take it out now, you might get whooped and rage sell it (bad choice).  It is a good tank, keep it.
