I’m stuck on the tier 8. Tiers 8-9 should have been arties, what’s is the point of all that elevation?

It’s no fun driving a tank that has no gun, ironically I was supposed to be main quality of the line. Already lost 2 million credits on the Sturmtiger(p), getting bottom leaderboard is not just common but a fact.

Just 2 matches over lunch in the tier 5.  Very team dependent.   Spoiler, my team stinks.

One match up against a 3 man platoon of captured kv1's AND a absolution thrown in for good measure.  They just drove down one side of himmelsdork and wiped everyone out.

Second match Malinovka.  Our single scout was idle all match.  I got spotting assist.   Turned out better than the first match, but not by much.

Kind of tired of them after two matches.  Not my cup of tea.

Anyone who has ever caught a glimpse of its armour model can pen it

It's super slow

No gun depression (only thing I tolerated tho)

No camo

Gun is bad when compared to other tier 8 casemate TD's (ISU-152, AMX, WZ, ...)

Huh. Imo, Ferdinand has great gun compared to several other tier 8 td's plus it has very wide gun arc, a thing that I really appreciate. In my exprerienc (back in 2017), it has enough armour to bounce some shots, especially againts lower and some equal tiered opponents. 1500 hitpoints is also nice. I just like some assault td's, mainly German ones. British assault td's are pretty bad imo and Soviets are decent, but Object 268 V 4 is hot garbage. Fortress Ferdinand however, was garbage, mainly because of much worse gun and even worse mobility compared to techtree Ferdinand.

I agree about the Ferdinand. While it has enough armor to work with its main selling point is having that great German 128mm on a platform with both a good gun arc and good gun depression, and that's why I'm struggling to enjoy the Sturmtiger P very much even though I really like the Ferdinand. Without the gun arc you can't afford to angle your armor without losing the ability to return fire, without the gun depression you can't work ridgelines to minimize the amount of your tank you're exposing (and again can't angle your armor as effectively), and while the Sturmtiger P's gun is certainly powerful and rather strong as a whole it also can't snap shots off or pen through most armor like the Ferdinand's 128mm can. Right now I'd rate the Sturmtiger P between the Fortress Ferdinand and the tech tree Ferdinand, as while it's not terrible it's also not very flexible like the normal Ferdinand is.

It's popular because it's new. Give it a month or two and I doubt many will still be playing it.

That's the problem right there. They're adding stuff in that nobody wants to play. Is war gaming making the game better with putting in crap lines? The answer is no

I agree with you on this.  I'm at the 7 and having a real hard time with it.  I'm hoping as I upgrade it that it gets better.

I like clunky tanks.  I enjoyed the St. Emil.  There is probably something wrong with me.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to play much of the game since the update landed on Tuesday.  I am wondering how well the Sturmpanzer plays since the "Frankenstein Sturmpanzer V" is apparently going to be this year's monster tank according to the Emblem list.

Quick Glimpse of the Tier 7, it plays like an ISU-152 but it has low pen at 203. I sold my ISU-152 today because now i have a tank with 10 less alpha but 1 Tier Lower. I didn't play it Stock as i used Free XP but i would probably HEAT Spam if i did.

Sorry sir... Love the Fortress Ferdinand.  Have almost 250 games in it.  I'm on the T7 and enjoying it. Hopefully the rest are fun as well.

Haven't been on the forums for a couple weeks and now find myself slightly puzzled. Am I reading this right? WOT console introduced the Sturmtiger as a TD?

TDs with turrets are so much better than casemate TDs it's a joke.  What did you guys expect?

The tier V StuiG 33 managed to sap my will to live in only three games with it. I think bouncing a point blank shot with the HEAT shell straight into the rear of a KV-1 was the last straw.

I don’t know how to act my age! I’ve never been this old before!

It was added yesterday as the tier 10 in a new German TD line of derp gun TD's.

Just load the third shell and nothing else.  I went out of my way on Sand River to get behind a formation of enemies in the canyon.  I slid down sideways with my gun aimed squarely at another StuiG 33, pulled the trigger for an epic mid-slide close range kill shot, and missed completely!  The shell sailed past them and slapped an enemy Boilermaker in the back of the turret for 400 damage.  They killed me right afterward but honestly who cares?

Embrace the derp. This is a silly tank.

So they took a special but straight up gimmick game mode for an artillery piece from a certain other version of this game and made a whole line around the premise but made it a TD.

No they took a long standing request for one of the most famous And infamous SPGs from WWII and created a whole direct fire SPG line for it. Players have been asking for new tank lines for years, they've also asked for more derp guns, and finally they've been asking specifically for the sturmtiger.  The last thing players want is more artillery, so making them direct fire SPGs was the best option.

I think they are probably underpowered, but releasing them overpowered would have been far worse.

I think they should at least have as good of guns a their peers at each tier, didn't make much sense to have inferior guns to the 10.5 cm or the Soviet 152mm.

I was going to say give it a go , BUT..

I'm glad have not bought any upgrades or put in a crew the Stuig 33.

Selling it ASAP when I unlock the Brum.

I don't think I'll go past Tier 6.
