No topic on absurd/bad tank design would be complete without this beauty. Pretty convential looking but a lesson on how not to design armoured vehicles.

The T-35 was an odd one that actually made it into service. .

The Ratte is just so........big! Its not a tank, its a mobile fortress :-D

Theres som more sketches and a "video" here:

Of course, these "tanks" did nothing more than draw resources of designers and engineers better needed elsewhere, but Hitler did get a "bigger is better-always" fetish during the war....

Lol at the video about the Ratte.

On a side note, I just found the KV-VI Russian Experimental tank. For some reasons I couldn't seem to get a picture up, but you can look it up if you want. Another land ship.

This the tank you mean? would like this to be like a random encounter on a map, before the game starts a warning is announced that a unknown tank has entered the battlefield at sector blah blah and both teams could either ignore it and fight, join up to take this tank on, or kill the other team and go at it alone

Current tanks:
Lights: M2 Light, (elite) T1E6-X, (elite) Valentine ll
Mediums: (elite) M2 Medium, M4, Jumbo, (elite) T-25, VK 30.02 M
Heavies: T29, (elite) Churchill III, (elite) VK 30.01 H, (elite) VK36.01 H, (elite) Tiger, Tiger ll, (elite) KV-1, KV-1S

TD: (elite) T-18, (elite) Hellcat, T25/2, (elite) AT-2, AT-8, Marder 38T, (elite) SU-85B, SU-85

Them are some massive tanks. you would never be able to move them things. you would need a land bardge if there is even one other then the one they use in the water lol. i watched the piece well video on the tortoise and the complications on moving a tank nearly 70 or 80 tonnes. it would take this tank 2 hours to turn [edited]... but can you imagine it being implimented in the wars wow...

Supposedly when Stalin was warned that such a long tank would have trouble turning, he replied that it wouldn't need to turn, because it will drive straight to Berlin

Now now, you can not forget the Landkreuzer P. 1500. Main armament 800mm and for secondary two 15cm sFH 18. Also we can not forget the multiple MG 151s. I forgot to mention it was to be powered by four U-Boat engines. Hmm can we have this in the game?

I think arty players would love this! ;)

The German/US MBT 70 was a pretty outlandish tank. Or the Swedish "S" tank.

Not really by modern standards. It was cancelled because of it's cost. The TV-8, however....

http://en.wikipedia....i/Chrysler_TV-8

And the S-tank was fine, it had a rear mounted gun and rear facing driver. It would "shoot and scoot" soviet tanks before running to do it again.

Buckle up. I'm going to try something. I saw it on a cartoon once... but I'm almost positive it can be done.
