...."To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you"....

I love to play this tank as an active scout, harassing and drawing fire while I spam away rounds on the go. If I survive this, I then help flank up the ones who scattered after my team picks them apart.. It runs circles around the bad guys quite nicely. An all around fun tank.

I think it would make a decent passive scout as well, but I have a hard time resisting spotting up all the bad guys and dodging fire on the way out. So I have really not been able to find out yet.

The Cromwell is the ultimate harrassing tank.  It's not satisfied with a kill unless the prey dies in a humiliating fashion.

It truly is. That alone can have a devastating effect on the enemy, especially when they are trying to deploy.

I have a current win rate in this one of 57%, and I get destroyed about 82% of the time. But it is what I do with it while I am alive that more often than not ends up a victory for my team. All that time the enemies are trying to hit me is a great opportunity for my team to get to work on them.

I use it to the fullest until it pops! Very fun!

As for the Leopard and a few other scouts, it is often better not to shoot at all with the Cromwell (except when meeting a target left alone or battling against other scouts), but it is not easy to resist to fire. Its speed is its best armor and on open maps like Prokhorovka spotting Cromwells are real poison for the other team !

Nice to use tank and a little different from the Leopard and Chaffee as it has a normal matchmaking and will meet tanks only till tiers VIII in the worst case !

It becomes even harder to hold fire when you get Snap Shot, and Smooth Ride researched. I realized I am hitting targets 90degrees port or starboard at full clip pretty often.

I wish I could get a Vertical Stabilizer on it.

The open field maps are my favorite in it as well.

Sounds to me like you're better with your crommie than I am.  That said, I love mine and have pretty decent stats with it... however, my win rate is crap compared to yours.  This, perhaps, should tell me something.

Git gud here:  bit.ly/tankguide (I should read this).  On Track list.

The only thing I am really good at with it is a slow, but beneficial suicide.

I fly back and forth in No Man's Land trying to dodge enemy fire. It's like dragging the string in front of the cat, they have to go for it.

I don't use it to battle the enemies per-say(unless it is an urban map). I use it to distract them from the real fight long enough that by the time they realize it, their butts are already half kicked by the rest of my team.

In the open maps I have practiced different routes to find what works for me. I stay in a constant state of motion from the start of the game on. I often die when I get tracked, or run into something. You only get lucky for so long doing this. Like I said, it explodes 82% of the time. When things go right, I bail out with loads of spotting points though(1500-2500 usually), and a win that probably would not have happened had I not been willing to keep my Cromwell in harm's way the whole time.

If you can keep it alive for five minutes doing this, the enemy has already lost.

I am pretty sure Bo and Luke Duke take turns driving my Cromwell. And Babe Ruth surfs on the rear deck, hitting those incoming fastballs over the wall.

I have so much fun trying to keep going, and being amazed I am still alive. When they do finally get me(if they do), I just laugh and think about what a struggle the enemy just had because of one tank. And how it ruined their game.

Easily the most fun tank I own, I often platoon up with one of my buddies and reign hell. We had a game on Malinovka Assault the other day where the entire enemy team left the left flank open (we were defending). Two crommies are better than one, and three are unbelievable, working in harmony we were circling and shooting everything in our path, I ended up with a Top Gun and my friend earned himself 2 kills with a ton of damage done between us.

Currently at a win rate of 60%, Mastery Badge and a K/D ratio of 4.14 with 52 battles played (and rising). This tank's earned a permanent spot in my garage.

The Cromwell is almost more of a party tank than the tog is. It's truly hilarious to see 3 go flying through enemy lines and watch the entire enemy team turn to shoot at them and then get confused being unable to pick which one to hit

Now that would be confusing, and effective.

I could only see the Tog party being more fun if you were trying to keep both hands on your beer. The thing is way too slow.

I love my Cromwell. Such a fun tank and versatile. A great scout and has decent pen if you need it. Such a great flanker too.

Such a fun tank. the comet was a bit of a let down with it being slower but I guess it prepares you for the slower but more agile Centurions

My current grinds: T-43 (for T-54/T-62A), Tortoise (for Death Star), ISU-152 (for Obj 704, and Obj 268), Jagdtiger (for JagdPanzer E100), AMX 13-90 (for Batchat), AMX 50-100 (For AMX 50-120/50B), and KV-4 (For ST-I and IS-4)

I play for fun, and not WN8 (as it ruins my view of this game)

I like the Cromwell but I think mine is cursed. 75% of the time I seem to get into tier 8 matches and more often than not my team doesn't seem to want to get within shooting distance of the enemy - my last game in it today was especially bad: 6x tier 8 heavies + 8x tier 8 TDs + me, on Sand River. 30 seconds into the game I made a very quick peek over the top of a dune to try and spot something and get taken out in 1 shot by an ISU-152.

I really like the tank but it's just not working for me at the moment which shows in my 36% win rate, so can anyone offer me any advice?

Pick your fights in tier 8 games, you've gotta kick back until you can see an isolated heavy tank / tank destroyer without any friends, your mobility will allow you to make a fool out of them, especially on maps like Sand River where there's room to put the Crommie's mobility to work. Don't be the first tank spotted, like I said, hang back and pick your fights, look for gaps in the enemies flanks to expose and you'll give artillery a bad day too.

Good luck on that battlefield dude.

Your font looks a little under the weather.. Yes! the Cromwell is a beasty little thing. Nippy and powerful. Did they really build an inferior replacement {Comet - shudders -}

The Comet is a worthy successor to the Cromwell. Plays the same. 1/2 spotter, 1/2 damage, solid flanker.

I am absolutely terrible in this tanks. I have an absolute blast with it, but I just can't seem to stay out of harms way with it.

Of all the games I've played in it, I think I've survived 1.

I've watched all the videos, read the wiki and "strategy" articles, like I do with all my tanks, but this one is just not "clicking" for me.

Any tips?
