So, with the FV215b (183)'s limited ammo capacity, long reload/aim time and the fact that HESH rounds are 8k a pop, are they actually worth doing a full load out or just keeping 1 or 2 just for good measure. I loaded up 10 and shot 4 of them and haven't  been making money. The tank is super fun to play but the in accuracy at long distances is troublesome.

Thanks guys! Tried out loading HESH rounds (2) to begin with. I notice if I make contact that I generally make my money back. It's SUPER fun vaporizing an enemy in one shot! This thing is OP!!!! Happy hunting!

I used to use standard rounds but every other 183 it seems used them on me no matter what I was in so now I play there game and go hesh and deathstar hunting

the 183 is not a cash maker as such it is called the deathstar because it vaporizes tanks and your silver stash

I've experimented using a loadout with 9 AP, 2 HESH, 1 HE. Surprisingly it is more consistent than having only HESH rounds. Yes HESH is an Omega FU to everybody, but there are many instances where you can get robbed of your shots. AP gives you a guaranteed 1000 damage hit almost every time during pens but it's not just that. Your shell more than likely messed up many aspects of the tank making it close to useless in a fight. In any case, I had many good high damage games and good income games from using this set up.

AP is useful for reliable damage due to the high penetration and the fact that it's a large shell that will probably do some nice module damage.

HESH is useful for one-shotting when possible, if that opportunity doesn't open up, it's only useful for module damage.

HE is good when you either encounter an extremely lightly armored tank or you want to do massive amounts of module damage cheaply.

Overall, I've found this entire tank to be very much a "land-artillery"; it is far better to help your team by dealing module damage whenever possible with it, rather than going for a one-shot on an irrelevant tank.

Used to run a 2 AP 10 HESH setup worked amazingly well, but have switced to 4 AP 8 HESH just try it out and see how it works out.

Whew! Been running 12 HE rounds instead of HESH for a few days just to save some coin. Man, lemme tell you. I figured it this way, if I can splash for several hundred dmg and possibly get a kill because I wasn't gonna one shot the red guy anyhow then why not? Not bad for a few thousand XP if you're in a pinch. Plus I laughed soooooo hard when I actually connected with HE. Hilarious. I'd say give it a go.
