I am getting very close to get the xp for the 4202 but not silver but I am not completely sure I want to get. Is the FV4202 worth it?

Let's put it this way, I got it solely for it to be replaced in the future by another more favorable tier 10 medium.

It's simply a smaller, faster firing 7/1 with no hull down capabilities

Is the frontal hull armor good?

Yes. It is basically auto-bounce, but enemies will be more inclined to shoot your face.

Well apparently on the PC its getting a major DPM buff and if we get those changes it will make the tank better however....I don't think anything else is changing about the tank so even though it will be able to put out more damage it can only put it out if it stays exposed for longer and if they haven't improved its ability to go hull down then....yeah I'll still pick the 7/1 over it.

I love the Comet, it is small, has a very good gun depression and incredible dpm. After the Comet the Centurions were a disappointment.

The Centurions are just huge weak spots. Their size is my biggest issue with them.

Compared to the Centurions the FV4202 has a smaller hull with very good traverse speed and better acceleration. Does it feel more like the Comet?

I've resolved to research but not buy the FV4202 in favor of having a spot ready when/if a replacement arrives.  Everything I've been reading about the FV4202 tells me it's a disappointment.

I'm getting it, but that's only because I'll most likely get a free Premium when it is replaced (And this does have precedence, so I'm not just crazy; when the M103 replaced the T34, people that had a T34 kept it and got their shiny new M103 for free). Really, it's not THAT much better than the Centurion 7/1, as far as I can tell (well, aside from that ABSURD Traverse speed).

I can help you win a match. Just don't expect me to survive it.

On the subject of the Centurion Mk. 1, 7/1 and FV4202... many of you have seen my various posts about these tanks. The Mk 1 was great, and the 7/1 is amazing (though I'm not personally too good in it).  But now there's the 4202.  I just got it last night, but only because I am betting that it gets replaced as is happening on the PC game.  I thought to myself, "Worst case scenario you run a crappy tier 10 for a while... no big deal".  I've only put 6 games into it, and I can tell I made a grave error when I previously thought I'd stay away from it...

Please read my Open Letter to the FV4202.

6 games is no where near enough. You need 50-100 games in the thing before you draw a conclusion. Those 6 games could of been just good luck.

Of course it's not enough.  Agreed.  I didn't say it was enough for a full review... but then I didn't write a full tank review did I?  However what did become glaringly obvious even at 6 games (that was 19 days ago) is that the tank is in no way a wanker.  I have a few more games in it now and I still think it's amazing.  Naturally you're welcome to bash the 4202 all you like.  In fact, if you don't already have one, please don't get one.  Less of them playing against me is a good thing.

There's hardly any around anyway because there are better tier 10 mediums. Its not the worst tank though. I may eventually get the xp to research it but buying an IS-7 would come first before this thing for me. It would be a while before I even have the xp to research it. Only just fully upgraded the 7/1.

If you don't have it, why do you keep bashing it?  You're correct about it's bad reputation.  It does not have a good one.  In all fairness, I was also bashing the 4202 before I got it (based on it's bad reputation).  It really was a pleasant surprise.  Anyway, maybe something worth trying out.  And, there is pretty good upside potential as, I'm sure you know, it's very likely going to be changed into a Premium tank at some point.  Those of us that have one will very likely get to keep it for free (this happened with the T34, right?), plus get the replacement Action X for free. It's a gamble I was willing to take, and it really turned out nicely with the tank itself.

As to the IS-7... well, we can agree on that.  I'm working my way through that line now... having a bit of trouble with the IS-3 believe it or not.  It's a beast and I am not.

Whenever I research it and get the silver I will try it out. Hopefully when its an on track event.

I'm working both the E100 and IS-7 lines just for that reason.  If an "on track" event comes up I want to be ready to take full advantage.  I hear ya.  I got the E5 that way, and man was that a great way to have a ton of silver savings on the T32, M103 and the E5.  Very cool.
