If you want to sit in a hull down position and get shot by arty go ahead.

The turret is of course worse but it relocates much faster on the hill. And it is easier to lure the enemy to bad shots because it is more compact, much more mobile and offers some hull armor.

Comet is my favorite tank in the game and the FV4202 feels very similar with some cons and pros. The FV4202 matches my favorite play style better than the Centurion 7/1 with its poor rof and dpm

Who said anything about sitting in hull down? It's not strong enough to do that 'cos the roof will get penned and/or overmatched. The 7/1 must work the hill and exploit the gun depression, and use the mantlet to bounce the odd shots which land. Yes the FV4202 has a marginally faster aim but its just not as good at working a hill 'cos the turret is cheese to guns with +200 mm of pen (no careful aiming needed).

You're welcome to your opinion of course.  That said, I have to agree with nighttrain123 here.  All three are great tanks, but the 7/1 is something unique in this game.  I think the reason I've had some issues with it is because I'm trying to use the 105mm and I think it doesn't effect the game properly if you do.  In other words, I think the right combo of this tank is the 20 pounder so you can fix your RoF and DPM issues.

I have a case of that I love the FV4202 but I never have fun in it. I moved the crew back into the Centurion after being frustrated in the games that I had been having but I haven't sold it yet. I am unsure I the 4202 will get the RoF increase or be replaced on the Xbox version but I will return to it if either happens.

Just an update after almost 50 games.

I still love it. This tank is so much fun to drive. The only issue I have is if arty hits you, it always does full damage...

I'm probably a slightly above average player and these are two games from today. These are two among many good games I had with this tank today. To all Centurion 7/1 drivers that hesitate to buy this beauty; You should try it, it is definitely not bad and maybe you like it as much as I do

Over 1700 base xp on a loss. This tank is really fun and I hope they don't replace it. It they want to buff it: ROF like the PC Version and a better aim time.

in answer to the thread title:

Or WG replacing it with the Action X Centurion and making it a Tier VIII premium and giving it a 20pdr and nerfing its armor

My current grinds: T-43 (for T-54/T-62A), Tortoise (for Death Star), ISU-152 (for Obj 704, and Obj 268), Jagdtiger (for JagdPanzer E100), AMX 13-90 (for Batchat), AMX 50-100 (For AMX 50-120/50B), and KV-4 (For ST-I and IS-4)

I play for fun, and not WN8 (as it ruins my view of this game)

i think the FV4202 is a great tank. it is my second favourite tank(favourite is prob the T-62A, although i am fond of the Jagtiger as well) and imo is the second best tier 10 medium in this version of the game(best is the T-62A ofc).

I would be THRILLED if WG does that... THRILLED.

At tier 8 with a 20 pounder (even with crappier armor) this thing would be fantastic!!  If they give it the 20 pounder type B barrel at tier VIII... oh wow.  Besides, I'd love to get a free Premium and the replacement tier X tank (action X).  Here's hoping that's what they do!
