I could both ways on this one... Rommel certainly had more experince and a better understanding of armored warfare... However Patton unlike most US commanders better unstood his own short comings as well as how Rommels mind worked in regards to armored warfare as is shown in Pattons constant and indepth studies of Rommels works on the subject before and during US entry into WWII... But at the end of the day I would say Rommel would be more likely to win, after all he was a more seasoned commander with actual field experince on much higher levels of command than Patton... that said Im confident that Patton would certainly give Rommel a run for money and it would like be a close fought battle either way
