Sounds good.  I was more expressing the reasons why I doubt it than arguing that it is wrong (I'd be happier if it's true).  Regardless of what get's posted here, I'll probably knock over a tree myself, back up 15m and see if I can see through it.  I can be stubborn like that.

Please report back with your findings good or bad.

It has been confirmed a few times by devs on the forums that they provide cammo.  This question seems to come up every 3 months or so.  They need a FAQ pinned to the top with the answers to these questions that keep coming around.  That way we won't have to go through this every time.

I'll knock over two or three trees in such a way that they form three-sided concealment with extra-dense cover at the front. Seems to work ok.

I apologize for the length of my post.

If you have any questions about camo ratings, or how it works please use this link.  http://www.wotinfo.n...amo-calculator  It will teach you alot.

Fallen trees do provide cover, it depends on how "bushy" the tree is.  If It is has no foliage, then when its on the ground, you just have a log.

As far as the distance behind a thick bush.  You can tell how far behind it you are by zooming in,  if you are over 15m behind the bush and you zoom in you will not see past the bush, this gives you the highest concealment rating.  Now drive forward, when the bush becomes opaque you are at 15m and still have the highest concealment, pull forward a little more, if you dont see the bush anymore, then you are inside or sticking out the front of the bush and are are the lowest to zero concealment value.

I would love to give you some in game examples, but I do have a slight advantage with it.  I am sure it wont last forever.   But I have a few spots with my hellcat that I make a very dense blind and can not be spotted from 220m away even when firing.  The only way I get spotted is by proxy and if someone sees my tracer.  Well, I wont actually get spotted, but they know my general area.   But I try and wait to fire when their barrel is pointed away from me.  This is an example of a what people call ghost tanks.  They can see the tracer, but the tank never appears.

Hope this helps.

Humble enough to admit I am wrong and petty enough to brag about my humility I can say that everyone who said they do provide camo was right and I and the other "I heard once from a guy that they don't" people were wrong.

I knocked over some trees in my Stuart and the fallen tree acted exactly like a bush.

Apologies if my gamer tag offends you.  It is literally two random words that sounded fun to say, and I put zero thought in to it.

We all learn in different ways, and none are wrong.   Now you can expand upon your play style and enjoy the benefits.   Kudos to you.

Actually, I searched and there was nowhere to be found. Only a post from Maxchaos24 stating that it was confirmed to him on PM. If you have found a link with an official answer please link it here so that I can put it on my F.A.Q. thread also. Thanks. :)

This is from the wiki.

Environmental Camouglage
You can use the different objects on the map to provide additional cover. Solid objects like terrain elevations, rocks, houses, or other static objects on the map cannot be seen through and thus always provide 100%  camouflage, i.e. you will not be spotted. But also half-transparent objects like bushes or trees (up or felled) provide a camouflage bonus up to 64%, depending on the density of the object.

If at first you don't succeed, don't take up skydiving.

That is a reference from the PC wiki, but it is also correct for us. As stated in that video, fallen trees can provide the same sort of cover that a bush does :)

If the tree falls and no one hears it (or sees it for that matter), will it still provide cover?

Just because you are paranoid, does not mean that you are NOT being watched!

All my writing will be in crap cyan and orange until 6.0 is reverted.

Thank you Nyx. Now I can use your post as reference for future debates on this issue. :)

It wouldn't hurt to plant some hemp tree's on the odd map.......use them for cover......till you light up I guess. Would not rage as much if everybody was a little high. Remember kids, you dont need drugs for a good time............you need em for a great time. Now say good by.

So what's the camo-value of the spewing water from the fire hydrants I keep knocking over on Port?  I love those things!   Doink!  Sploooosh!    Now, I want to hide behind them.

By the way, whoever keeps shutting off the valves to save water, enough!  It's hot out and we want the water to run.
