Hey Tankers!

 

It is November, a time to remember when new lands and territories were discovered. I am tasking you with discovering uncharted territory by designing your own map! 

 

The Top 5 winners will receive the following:

1st place: 5,000 Gold + 1 week of Premium Time
2nd place: 3,000 Gold + 1 week of Premium Time
3rd place: 1,500 Gold + 1 week of Premium Time
4th place: 1,000 Gold + 1 week of Premium Time     
5th place: 500 Gold + 1 week of Premium Time 

 

Example by Mana WGA called "The Veins"

The map doesn't have to be super detailed but look to designing something that you would have fun rolling through in your tank.

 

How to join the contest:

Rules:

  • All players are welcome to join the contest but each player can submit only one entry.
  • Entries must be created exclusively for this contest.
  • Photo manipulated images will not be considered (everything must be created yourself, aside from the provided grid)
  • Entries must comply with the moral, ethical, and legal standards, as well as with the Forum rules.
  • Wargaming gains exclusive rights to the contest entry when you post it on the forum, as outlined in the “10. User Generated Content” section of the Terms of Service

 

The submission deadline is November 19 at 09:00 PST (November 19 16:00 UTC).

Quick question: Is there any chance that one of these maps, if awesome enough, could be implemented in the game?

 

While that may be difficult to implement, it is always a possibility. The power of a community working together to make something that they collectively want to see should never be underestimated!

Hmm...might give this one a try since I will be needing premium time when the contest is complete.

 

And yeah...would be cool if winning map would be used in game.

Winner picked at random? Best art? Most playable layout? 

 

The winners will be picked with respect to creativity of map design, playability, presentation, etc.  The point is...have fun with it!  I believe people who are having fun with their map creation, then the fun will leak through in their presentation.

"The Overlook" Starts as a sandy, mountainous region on each side. All rolling towards a sandy, marsh region where many of tanks have gotten destroyed.

 

Battles across that body of water look promising. :)

Can I use autocad or inventor to make my map?

 

As long as you use the grid provided and create original content, it should be fine. :)

What a great contest, Do we need to explain our entries?

Map name: Jewelbridge

This map has 2 bridges and a tunnel as the only means to cross a very wide river.
The two towns are fortified by surrounding walls that limited the entry/exit points
 
Make your your way out of your base town. Pick up a little speed as you fly down the hill straight Into your first decision. Bridge or Tunnel? Take the bridge and duel oncoming enemy's whilst avoiding crossfire from the other bridge, hoping that weather won't change to explosive shell showers. Or you choose the tunnel taking care at the Central choke point. Can you make it through the carnage to the other side? With your platoon buddies in tow you will have to work hard to capture your enemy's fortified elevated base.

You'll face more threats than just enemy tanks on this new map, Eruption, as you battle your way around an angry volcano.  Push forward over rivers of deadly lava, or hold important land bridges to assure victory.  This map features a small town on the Southwest for close quarter urban combat, and a more open area for combat in the Northeast.  Would you dare to take your light tank on top of the volcano to scout your enemies?

 

 

Love your little intro and that map looks "too hot to handle!" :O

Name-Last Push for the Crown 

Ok this is my map...

Setting-An Hill near Moscow during the early phase of WW2

Environment-Snow

This map features 2 rivers a deep semi-frozen river allowing tanks to drive on part of it and a shallow lake like on in the top right conner. Both are feed by 2 frozen waterfalls on  the central hill. Spawns are in located opposite conners of each other. The central hill has 2 paths C5 and F7 leading to the top of it giving a combining view of the left side battlefield only. Both G3 and D0 have small bluffs that allow hull down potions for each team.

Possible game modes- Standard Battle, King of the Hill, Encounter

 

Intriguing design, especially with the idea of a semi-frozen river. :)

Name of the map: Bastogne

Dark green = gulley, low grass

Aqua = low grass, slight speed decrease

Green/yellow = medium grass, minor loss of speed

Gray = pavement, normal speed

Brown = compacted dirt, normal speed

Blue = lakes of course!

Spawns in A9 and K9

 

Could use some more shrubbery, but I didn't know what the limit is, so figured I would start here. If it ever became a real map rocks and shrubbery could be added.

 

I know some people do not like it, but I love maps with "city" elements. :)

So here's my entry.

 

I called it Canyon.

 

 

On the middle there's small "canyon" where the major fight begins. Two small islands for each team. They can be used for sniping and flanking. Yellow dots means that you can drive here through water. Black things on the middle are rocks :) and bridges which connect islands with main battlefield. Also the darker colours means that there's high ground so on each cap there's a little elevated terrain which can be used as a cover.

 

In my opinion the map is great for flanking and brawlers. Take notice that when people would fight in the canyon there's few of posibilities to counter attack. Small islands = TDs and there are small gaps near the canyon for Mediums to take role of flanking. Also you can go through water and get to the cap. So I think it's pretty cool :)

 

I'm sorry for the cartonish kind of image (brush etc.), but it's my style. Hope you like it :D

Mine is called "War Torn" It is mostly a barren field with few trees and a city in the top left corner which contains the flag. The fields have some burning tanks as cover (black squares) and the buildings in the city will also be on fire + there will also artillery craters that can be used as cover. The left side of the map is more for heavies and the right for mediums. There are main road running horizontal into the city is where a lot of the fighting happens and the mini village behind it is where the TD's could support from and the same for the hills for the opposing team. Though most of the battle would take place in the town square in the city for the flag. :smile:

What editing tools can I use on an I pad for this, might be able to borrow one for this.
