Got this beautiful jewel on a trip away in ze Lakes area of Northern Britain for £27, proceeded to put about 20 or more hours into building this thing.

Spoiler

The cupola can be opened and closed whenever I want, tracks still need to be heated together at some point if at all and I think I only missed two parts(the little things that go on top of the headlights, they wouldn't co-operate so I just got rid of them).

Was debating about whether to do it in a German Army Camouflage or in the JGSDF, I'll probably buy another at some point just to do the other version because it was a fun build.

The M48A2GA2 needs a new name that is shorter, how about the Puma? now sits happily along with my other 2 1/35 Tanks and a 1/35 Clicker.

Also that Spitfire tin I sat it on for most of the pictures had some awesome biscuits.

What it looked like prior to the camouflage being put on.

Spoiler

Updated list of other models into original post.

Shall leave below an entire list of pictures of the models I own, should be done via link rather than an an entire list of pictures that would probably take forever to load, so you'll have to just copy/paste them to see them.

Spoiler

Should alert me if I've messed up one of the links and if I should get another picture of that specific model.

There is also a 1/72 Fairey Swordfish that I have, but that sits in my room still not even a single piece built because I want to paint it a specific scheme.

Pretty sweet. That's one heck of a nice paint job.

Stats? We don't need no stinking stats.

It's the 5th time I've tried to put a camouflage on a tank, very happy with what it ended with.

Still wish that 'Sand' paint was a bit more 'light brown'.

If you could use the M48A2GA2 in WoT with this camo

Spoiler

I'd definitely grind it out.

Excellent OP! I was wondering if anyone else made tank kit.  Good to see they do.

I've been considering trying my hand at a tank diorama..have not modelled/painted for a few years.

I like trying to make tanks look worn, weather beaten and try and have a story behind it.

Great to see,and hopefully we'll see some more entries from people! :D

I've made like 40 or so tanks and perhaps 20 or so planes as well.

The M48 is one of the best looking ones I've done by far, I typically just go for plain paint and not a camouflage, and at least one model has a broken or missing piece which I can try to hide away

I prefer just having the tank in that one colour or camouflage, but not made worn, beaten or got mud because I don't have any actually good weathering stuff.

Have a scout round. There a lot of PE parts out there. Tracks especially. Proper pinned links. Brass guns etc

My home town really only has a single decent 'model shop', and that's just filled with Airfix stuff which I generally dislike(1/76 scale for tanks is eww).

I found a store a good 'ol distance away that has Tamiya and Revell stuff, but generally the only way to get that sort of stuff is through Amazon.

First and only time I tried to get a model kit via the internet, they never arrived.

Typically I have enough parts to just build the model and some random crap lying around I can throw on it to look like it's got more on it, none of it is really super fancy.

Shall probably update this thread perhaps tomorrow with at least one picture of every model I have thus far, because it'd be a bit silly to make an entirely new thread out of old stuff.

Its the same where I live. Just one tiny independant model shop.

I agree 1/76 is too small for tanks, not nearly enough detail unless you are one of those highly skilled modellers. 1/35 and 1/48 are much better for vehicles imo. Not so much planes as the rather large 1/48 AC-130 Spectre I own suggests.

1/48 and 1/35 are definitely my favourite.

I own a 1/24 or something RC M1A2 Abrams but that's too large for my taste and I doubt I have THAT much paint.

1/48 is the furthest I've went with planes, I think Airfix for some silly reason do 1/72 planes but 1/76 tanks.

I hope to go to Tankfest in the hope that they have model kits.

Never been sure why they do planes in 1/72. I know 1/76 is the same as 00 gauge on model railways tho.

Maybe we could get a thread for model tank building/painting etc pinned up by the mods.

I know id like to see more & maybe add some of my planned projects. Be easier to have a central thread to come to and admire peoples efforts, no?

I bet there's one hidden out there among all the dead threads on one of the forums.
