I'd like to invite you to share why you love the medium playstyle and what your favorite tank is to play. I'll give it a go.

Hi, I'm Haavy. I like to play mediums because (lol I know, sounds like a support group meeting): I have to play the role of every other class and do it well (except reigning hellfire down upon an unsuspecting brethren from the other side of the map - that I cannot do). I'm required to know my maps and constantly be aware of what's happening with my team as my role on the battlefield can change at a moments notice. I can contribute to my team on any map and any battle type whether bottom tier or top. If under assault I can get hull down and defend. If assaulting I can support my scout to light them up or do it myself. I can scout. I can hunt scouts. I can snipe or brawl when required. I can intercept when a flank falls. Best of all though, we Mediums can flank. We don't worry about "weak spots" and "penetration values", we aim for ammo racks and engines, firing all the AP we want. The versatility of playing mediums means I have the opportunity to significantly effect the outcome of every battle no matter the opponent's tier or map. Contributing every match makes playing mediums ideal for farming xp and silver, making them great for training crews and keeping the bank account full.

My favorite medium (so far) is the T20. It was my first tier 7 tank and I used it and the M4 to train the majority of my American crews (I wouldn't recommend it, but if you have to play several hundred battles with a 75% crew and no perks, these would be the tanks I'd recommend doing it in - but seriously, get a premium to train crews). The T20 is extremely versatile, it's low profile, camo, and view range make it a great passive scout (great for xp and silver when bottom tier), while the gun allows it to aggressively active scout when needed. It's speed and turret traverse combined with it's turret armor and gun depression make it a fantastic flanker able to take advantage of most of the terrain out there. It's a decent sniper when called upon and packs enough punch to actually get most tank's attention making it great at the harassment role as well.

So share why you like playing mediums and tell us which is your favorite to play.

Happy Tanking,
Haavy

Does the E5 count as a medium?

No Patrick, the E5 is not a medium.

Mayonnaise isn't a medium either.

You can PM with with questions, if you wish. I don't bite.

I play them for two reasons:

1.  Everything you said about versatility.  They allow me to play every map, every situation, take on different roles, etc.

2.  They are more difficult to excel in, and I like the challenge.

Yeah sure, it's more about the playstyle than the label of Medium.

@Joco: Hey, I meant to +1 you, but my phone lagged a bit and I negged you by mistake, sorry about that. Could someone please fix this mistake?

Pubbie Heavy and TD players hate being outplayed by a medium.  I get more hate mail this way.

No, they all think they are invincible. It's hilarious to put them in their place.

I lilke tanks with fast rates of fire and passable mobility. While mediums are not my most used or favorite tanks I do enjoy them.

I haven't been too high up any medium tree (Cent 1 is my highest), but so far the M4AE8 is my favorite. The gun isn't the best but the rof can shred things and it turns quickly.

All my writing will be in crap cyan and orange until 6.0 is reverted.

Hence why the E3 was buffed

I play them because you can't rely on randoms, and because of that, the versatility of mediums is invaluable.

4202 is my tank of choice, it can do everything, except win a race.

My WoT tank reviews

If you enjoy them please do share/sub. Thanks.

Which I thought was the dumbest thing they could have done. I like my E3, but I'll be the first to say that TD needs a nerf, like really needs a nerf.

I'm a light tank player.  I enjoy scouting.  Medium tanks are excellent scouts at high tiers.  Given the tanks we currently have on the Xbox, medium tanks are better scouts than light tanks at high tiers.

medims are by far the best tanks to play.good all round tanks in the right hands, but my best medium is easily the Cromwell, the only downside to this tank is its aiming time but with the right perks and equipment this can be addressed.its much more challenging and you are the eyes and ears for your team so to speak, the scouting aspect is very important.get on the frontline and use those mounds and hills to your advantage...
