We’ve all seen it in the movies. The hero shot. It is the moment when the hero stands against all odds. The one shot that you remember most. Now it is your turn to create your hero shot.

The Top 10 entries will receive 750 gold!

Here is an example of the style we are looking for.

How to enter the contest:

  • Find a physical tank. This can be a toy, a model, or even cardboard.
  • Go out and find your perfect background or make one. Street, forest, grass, sand or anything else you can come up with.
  • Get creative. You entry can be silly or serious. It’s all up to you.
  • Make your tank larger than life. Scaling and photo trickery adds to your creativity.
  • Make sure to add your handwritten gamertag in somewhere in the picture.

Rules:

  • All players are welcome to join the contest but each player can submit only one entry.
  • The creation must be designed exclusively for this contest.
  • Entries will be judged on creativity, quality, etc.
  • The image requirements are as follows: format —JPEG, PNG, or GIF; resolution — between 800x600 and 1024x768 pixels; size — up to 700 KB.
  • The image must comply with the moral, ethical, and legal standards, as well as with the Forum rules.
  • Wargaming gains exclusive rights to the contest image when you post it on the forum, as outlined in the “10. User Generated Content” section of the Terms of Service

The submission deadline is Friday, April 3 at 09:00 PM PST (April 3 16:00 UTC)

How good does it have to be? Literally the only photo-editing software I own is paint.

There are numerous ways to make your photo. I don't want to give you guys too many ideas ;) but you can take a tank (model, toy, or even a cardboard cutout) and create your own battle scene, get a really cool closeup shot of it with your camera, or any other way you can get your heroic shot. You can even have your tank crushing a Hot Wheels car. The possibilities are endless.

I use paint.Net. It is basically close to photoshop, but free!

800 x 600 - 1024 x 768 pixels?, that kinda stinks, I have a nokia lumia 1020, it's pictures have a resolution of 7712 × 5360, so crap.
I guess I can scale it down, with my 1/16 RC pershing tank, this should be a fun contest.

Swiggity Swooty, I'm comin' for that Booty.

Isn't contest based on tanks and background from your surrondings not with the help of the photo editing stuff?

I mean you actually need to have some kind of tank, put it somewhere and take a picture. Not take the tank from internet and put it on background from internet.

Yeah,  I am understanding this contest like that as well, imo, the example posted by Niko may be a bit misleading as while it's a "larger than life" picture of a tank, is an actual tank and an image from internet. I do think using photoshop a bit would be cool (adjust colour, brightness,  or something like that) but if I am understanding the tank and background  (photo) in question  must be real?(i.e. not from  the internet) or can one use a background from the internet?

Anyway, cool contest I hope to find the time to make an entry.

For those without photoshop I think photoshop gives 30 days free trial if I am correct, one can adjust the size of the image there.

Yes. The tank has to be physical. The backgrounds can be natural like your lawn, trees, rocks, and so on. You can also construct your own background. You can't use internet find pictures for this.

Now having said that, you can in fact tease your pictures up a bit with filters and all of that. Example would be WII black and white with film grain. The picture I used is just illustrating the type of heroic image we are looking for. I mean come on, a JUMPING TANK!!! :)

So I used to play with army men toys a while back when I was younger and I literally have hundreds of them, could I possibly do more than just a tank and have a whole scene going on for a battle or something?

You sure can. As long as all items are physical items you are set.

Your Gtag isnt in the picture. Also the uploaded version on the internet is a lot larger than this image. Now I think you get what Im hinting at. If its yours just take another photo with your name IN the picture. Just giving advice as it may not be counted due to this and there is no proof that this is yours. Im not trying to be [edited]here but I hate people who take credit for others work.

These are the kind of teammates I like to have; they are the kind that don't give up under bad odds. There are four tanks here against eight army men.
