I'm constantly adding contest ideas to my little green book. Top secret. You will see plenty more of these types of contests and more. If one contest isn't your think, there is a good chance the next one will be. :)

So I wanted this to not only be a fun project, but also have some "usefulness" after completion.  What I have built is a pedal-powered drivable SU-85I.  We enjoyed playing driveway-tank all afternoon today while I recorded videos.  Although I tried to keep it faithful to the original, some proportions were changed to accommodate the tricycle and our super sweet, cooperative, brave, and patient driver.  She had a very small viewport and often conflicting instructions to deal with.  Not to mention the red team sent a DOG out on the battlefield!!  Here are photos of the finished tank, materials, and a video bringing it all together.  I'd like to say this project took "just a few days".  Ahem.  To be honest it is well over a week in the making and now occupies the living room.  To quote Dr Bodge, I might also say "never again!"  Nah, who am I kidding.  I hope you all enjoy!

MANY MORE PHOTOS HERE:

And the video:

Materials:  Corrugated cardboard boxes, hot glue, wood to build the frame on the tricycle.  And what project would be complete without some duct tape....

STATS NEED BUFF.

Dang, maybe I should get to eating that tank now...  lol

(Kidding. It's actually blackened, curled up, and shrunken to half the size it was.)

Absolutely awesome work, everyone. I think this was without a doubt the most fun contest yet. :great:

Alright guys. I'm closing the thread out for now. Results will come in a bit. I'm going to have to get a few sets of eyes on here to help me out. They are so good!

Alright everyone. Sorry, it has taken me so long to get the winners posted up. This was a REALLY tough one. I ended up passing this around the office for a lot of eyes to see. We were stuck on the who the Grand Prize winner would be. We came out exactly even. So things changed a little. A couple more people are going to get some gold with a surprise at the end. You all know how I love surprises.

So let me explain how this is going to work. Due to the fact that we are so torn on the winner. We have decided to have 2 Grand Prize winners. There was a lot of back and forth and deliberation on this. That means that it opens up 3rd place. After we came to that conclusion, there was also a decision that instead of honorable mentions, in this case everyone will get at least 750 Gold who participated. You all earned it with your hard work and creativity. You continue to impress us with every contest.

Grand Prize Winners:

Conundrum524 and Failgrenade

1st Place:

Blazing Falken

2nd Place:

mriankamp

3rd Place:

Chuchuwasi

750 Gold Winners:

RedRider3000

Balthasar250

Ozaryk

Prince Mathieu1

Linerax

Kellen Martin

BCK x Snaakz0r

WizenedFlipper

I'll get started on crediting your accounts and you should all be taken care of on the last day. If you participated and aren't on the list, PM me so I can make sure you are added to it. I want to thank you ALL for participating in the contest. I was a bit nervous about this one when I was writing it up initially. Now you have opened up a huge bank of ideas for future contests. There will be one later today that I think everyone should enjoy as well. If you have any questions about the winners, the contest, or the prizes, please PM me directly. Thanks everyone!!!!

Great! I built another Lego tank I'd like to enter in the next custom build tank contest that I'd like to show off to everybody. It's a special build that features a 90* gun depression!

Congrats to everyone, especially the two grand prize winners. I was torn between the two myself; glad to see both made it out on top!

Also, Niko, that was really cool of y'all to expand the prizes all the way through.  :)

Wow, seeing the winners I think I had no chance of winning this one! great work everyone!

"I don't demand that people think or behave the way I do. I have just as many questions about my own ideas as other people might have about my ideas. I'm not convinced I'm absolutely right all the time, but I'll take the chance and state my opinion at the time that I have it. I may regret it later, I may even change my mind later, but I take a stand."-  Frank Zappa
