This is how you should play lakeville at the start of a game, please note that this is, for the most part, only for the first 3-5 minutes of the game. And I don't recommend going to the town at all in a heavy if you don't have a bunch of top tier tanks with you aka proper support.

Key: Purple lines are paths you should take to the town. This picture only covers spots in the town.

1. Line 1 is for fast mediums and is kind of risky but its the way I always go in mediums.

2. Line 2 is the safe path for everything slow.

3. The red lines represent the line of sight you have from just that 1 spot, so anything spotted in that area you can shoot at.

4. The white lines represent the line of sight you have from just that 1 spot, so anything spotted in that area you can shoot at.

5. The green lines represent the line of sight you have from just 1 spot, so anything spotted in that area you can shoot at. But this spot is not like the others, its very dangerous and should only be attempted when you have a bunch of support already in the town.

The red area represents where some people on your team will always go, so you shouldn't go there.

Spoiler

Now for the second image, this one only covers the goat bath...umm...excuse me I meant goat path. the key is largely the same so I'm just going to explain whats new:

1.You wont see any of the lines from the other spots, these new white and red lines represent what you can see from these new spots.. although they're not really color coordinated.

2. The purple spots on the map are places you can go, they're only for mediums, lights, and TD's.

3. Spot A is very risky, if DEPLOYING DUMPS is on the opfor then he will yolo you, ask me how I know. lol so don't go there if hes on the opfor. This spot is very risky but also very rewarding so be careful. You have a pretty big rock to hide behind and it provides good cover... unless you get yoloed lol

4. With spot B you have a little hill on the side of the mountain that one tank can use for cover, I don't know if two tanks can use it for cover though. You also have a very little hill in the goat path that provides almost no cover, but hey, its better then nothing!

5. Spot C is really just for TD's after the opfor has made it into town, you want to be really far forward in spot B to shoot the spotted opfor on there way to the town.

6. From all these spots you can shoot the opfor after they've made it into the town as well. So yeah, they're really really good spots!

Spoiler

In this last picture you're going to see how these places I've just showed you compare to watching the valley, and this is the key:

1. So the red circle represents where you can safely shoot the opfor.

2. The red rectangles represent everything you can see from my spots.

3. So after looking closely at this last picture I realized that my rectangles are to small, you can actually see more then just whats in them.

Spoiler

Ok that wasn't the last picture, neither is this one. This one shows how much map control you have if you win the town side.

Spoiler

This last picture shows what you win when you conquer the valley!

Spoiler

So please people, let the randoms go valley while you do the important stuff! :)

I wonder if the Valley could be fixed by making it 3-4x as wide at the apex, and remove all the Swampland around to make it simple grass?

Can you mention what to do when you have 19 tanks sitting in C4 and you're the lone wolf in town?

Actually I have found G4 on the Goat Rd advantageous for mediums with good view range. This allows me to spot anything that is using that 1 line and almost out to the 2 line. This then slows the enemy teams advancement into town plus allowing some of the thinner skinned TD's to do good damage at range before heading to town.

Thanks for putting all of this together.  I hope someone (in need) reads it.

It's amazing how simple you can make this explanation, and yet so many people will argue as they trudge through Valley and get nothing done.  I had a game today where all of the Green part of the enemy were either in the Valley or at J4 (we spawned South).  I got so fed up with trying to make my scouting mean anything that I went back to the valley and broke the huge blockade of 1 god damn tank that was holding up that part of the moron crew.  The stupidity you can witness in a Lakeville game is astounding.

Git gud here:  bit.ly/tankguide (I should read this).  On Track list.

I just played an assault game on Lakeville where I was one of two tanks to go to the flag (we were over run by 8 tanks).  4 went down the valley and the rest sat on j3 and j4 and never moved.

Too bad we couldn't have dropped your leaflets on them before it started.

Aside for the goat path, it plays out very similar.
