So, it would probably never happen, but what if armoured cars and fast recce vehicles were introduced as a new class to the game? They would have huge view range, blistering speed and great mobility. For the first time round, I shall do those of Great Britain. More to follow from other nations.

I'm not sure if WoT's mechanics can support wheels.

It wasn't intended as a suggestion, I know it will probably never happen, it was just a glimpse of what could be.

If these fast armoured cars would retain optimal mobility ( or close to optimal )  in most terrain types, they will make light tanks obsolete.

If at all, these become reality in WOT, they should bog down to a crawl a lot more than tanks with treads.

Right, let me get this straight. The same goes for my other Armoured Car threads. This is not me saying ''I made a tree of armoured cars, you should add these, they're totally balanced, this is what should definitely happen''. This is me saying 'it would be interesting if these were added, even though they won't be, I just did this as an idea and to see how it would change the game.'' I know these are unbalanced and OP/underpowered, it is just an idea that will never be added.

I do like the idea of the scorpion I will be honest  the scimitar I feels a bit to modern but yeah if the scorp was a premium light I'd probably go for that.

I think the Scimitar might fit into the date range, it entered service in 1971.

Might as well put the Bob Semple tank in while you're at it.

And instead of shooting each other the winning team is the one that had the least fall apart or the forward gunner lying on the mattress on top of the engine getting sick. :teethhappy:

What do you mean 'state of the art'? This was quite literally a small bulldozer with some thin corrugated steel sheets and a load of Bren guns sticking out of it. Believe it or not, this is the tank New Zealand produced to defend themselves in the 1940s. I think its the only tank New Zealand ever made.

Yep, produced in small numbers to defend New Zealand from a Japanese invasion, would have made a great challenger to the type 97. they made the Schofield tank too.

Those last few are 'cars' the same way the American T7 is. I bet those could be put in game as is under light tanks. Would be pretty cool to have light tanks above tier VII.

As for the mobility issue... just make it so they have a much more difficult time in rough terrain. Great on level hard ground, but put it in the mud, water, or sand? 20-30km/hr.

Not sure if they need extended view range vs. lights, but better camo for sure. Those things were smaller and quieter than light tanks, right? (just a guess)
