[HARDCORE 2Omk]

Been doing better lately and remembering old post about this. Mainly the last one from Gatz.

About almost always arty or lights or whatever. Suiciding themselves at the end when they are lossing.

Accidentally or not...

 

This is getting old really fast. 

 

 

So I propose a suicide watch. They suicide. Automatically -250 xp's...

Considering missing every shot or afk'er. Then technically they could go a little negative in xp too.

You know this "suicide" penalty thing has me a at a cross roads... I was playing Erlenburg yesterday, game was close for a bit then suddenly my team just falls apart, it's down to me vs 6 opfor, in my T-67 I can cover a lot of ground very quickly so I take off to the south side of the map to get opfor arty, one of them gets a very lucky/good shot on me taking me down to less then 5% health. I miss judge where to cross the water at south end of map and die attempting to cross. I am sure every single player on opfor thought I intentionally suicide, but that was not the case. I think the better thing would be to establish a punishment for someone doing it several games in a row, or having a high frequency, say 2 out of 10 games... something like that.

Then if you got hit in the last 20 sec. or so you don't get it, just in case of a rammer or that.

Nah, it'd be fine, because, while that would have sucked for you for that one game, I'm guessing that rarely happens to you?

-250 XP imo is a bit to much of a punishment. Yes I know its a douchey move but still, I think -150 is more reasonable. BTW, what if someone accidentally falls into a lake? I've done it a few times.

And if WG ever considered this (which I highly doubt) And you see people complain about it, well we will know who drops into the bottom of the lake most games.

Well there is this unicorn medal called lucky. If someone gets a lucky. Then no xp loss.

Why do we have to loss are high caliber medal because HC drove in front of Owl! And get shot at by his teammates.

May I suggest this: No penalty if you are an artillery that is completely out of ammo.

 

Attempting kamikaze with an arty (other than FV304 maybe) will be a completely futile thing to do. You will just turn into an easy kill for the enemy.

I only voted no because it seems very hard to control.  What constitutes a suicide?  Driving directly into a lake and drowning less than 1 minute into a game? I've done that accidentally a couple of times trying to get to a spotting position (2x into water and 2x off a cliff).  Crashing your tank and dying when the last one on your team and being chased by OPFOR?  I've done that accidentally as well.

 

I don't dispute that suicides should be penalized (I guess), but I don't see how it could be accurately judged from a coding perspective.

 

I also feel that intentional AFKs are more of an issue than suicides.
