Best map rotation in a long time without Malinovka and Sacred Valley.

          My stats aren't perfect, but there impressive for me at least!

see all the hate on Mali, but you have to admit having that map as a change up every 5-15 matches would be nice. plus look at all the X-one baby seals that need a clubbin. :playing:

I actually get a pretty good balance of maps every day I play, plus I've done enough studies in the past to know you average a good even random selection over 100-200 games.

Id live to see Steppes, Airport and Sacred Valley in the next update. Only played SV a few times and Steppes is just fun. Well im off to go club some seals and kick some puppies! See y'all on the battlefield.

I'm hoping to see a Steppes - Winter. It's historically accurate for one, and I think they can improve the map a lot more with tank/plane/bunker wreckages and stuff, under the lore that the winter version is fought when the Russians are pushing back during the winter, while the summer version was while the Germans were pushing into the USSR.

A WAR version of Steppes would be amazing!

Yea I miss playing Cliff, Murovanka & Westfield on 360 not so much Port but looking forward to them all coming to xbox1, when will these maps come to the xbox1?

Currently all maps on console are the same rotation does not matter if on 360 or One

Im not sure why this keeps happening but really it's been going on for quite some time now. It's been so much worse since xb1 beta weekend but I'm referring to map rotation. After seeing the maps listed out and all the variants I'm even more confused. My friend and I played for a few hours yesterday evening and kept track of the maps we played on and how often they repeated. Here goes: we played a total of 14 battles in various tiers. We got Sand River 5 times , Pearl River 3 times, Himmelsdorf 2 times , Fishermans Bay 2 times , Widepark 2 times . If there are still 19 maps in rotation how is it possible to get so many repeats ?? Oh and by the way at one point we had Sand River 3 out of 4 . We really need at least a few maps back its been like 7 weeks now it's getting pretty old . I'm just as addicted to this game as when I started but Im REALLY getting tired of it

Its actually quite simple and its how the MM picks maps, it takes the Pool of players in your game and throws out the Top 2 maps that have been played last by that group, then tries to pick the least played map from what's left.

 

So basically you can run into the same map 2 or 3 times in quick succession because the majority of players haven't seen that map in a bit, sooo on average the map rotation will be repetitive in small bursts of 5 or 6 games then rotate out to something else for 5/6 games ect ect. 

 

The reason this is seeming more repetitive then normal is because of the higher and higher player percentage we have been seeing.

That sounds like a fine explanation and I know you are very knowledgable . If that is the case then maybe it should not be called " random" battle. I havnt played many multiplayer shooters in last few years but I can't remember any game with 20+ maps or tracks or stages or whatever repeat so much. The matchmaking you describe sounds like a system that may be slightly broken. There should be NO reason to repeat that often. A few repeats here but we never saw any map only once!! They were ALL repeats !!

When are the maps coming back? I mean, it doesn't take that long to revamp a map....

Actually, it takes about 5 weeks to completely model a map in HD from start to finish according to the head of the art dept. In a recent developer Q&A I was at, in Chicago August 16th. Also it was said they are doing the maps in batches and that a new batch was coming Soon.

Try actually recording every battle for awhile I've done it when we have had less maps in batches of 100-200 battles, I've found it to be quite balanced overall and looking through hours of live stream footage, I'm still seeing quite a balanced rotation. I think its just confirmation bias that people keep getting the same maps all the time.

So, I understand the wait for the maps that are out of rotatation and why we have to wait fo the new ones.  I was just wondering if there are any plans for NEW maps in the foreseeable future?
